Teatro di San Carlo of Naples will offer Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, with Dmitry Ulyanov in the leading role.
Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, an opera in four acts by Shostakovich will be on the stage of the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples between the 15th and the 22nd of April. Dmitry Ulyanov will give life to Boris Izmaylov in this production that comes to the Napolitan theatre from the Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam. Stage direction will be in the hands of Martin Kušej and conducting will be by Juraj Valèuha, at the helm of the Teatro di San Carlo orchestra and chorus and an important cast including, in addition to Dmitry Ulyanov, Natalia Kreslina and Elena Mikhailenko (Katerina Izmaylova), Ludovit Ludha (Zinowy Izmaylov) and Ladislav Elgr (Sergej).
Soon Dmitry Ulyanov will perform the same role in a new production of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk at the Opéra National de Paris.
